Summary:
Freire said that reading and writing is really important because it can change the way you think and how you see the world. Basically, reading makes you more mature. World to word!! If you read more, you can see the world better. He also talked about the experiences and personal connections with how he became to like to read and how important of reading and writing. Teacher is also part of to shape who you are. However, it is not all depends on the teacher but its the students have to create their own reading and writing style.

I think he is trying to say like do not afraid to read and write because you think you are not good at it or some reason. But to challenge and face your fear, once you used to with reading, you will not be afraid.
